Outlook inside Odoo: why your inbox belongs next to your customers

Stop switching windows to answer the email about the invoice you're looking at.

No titles in the blog post

Most Odoo users run their business in two windows. Odoo holds the customers, quotes, invoices and deliveries. Outlook or Gmail holds the conversations about them. Every reply starts with a search in one window for something you just read in the other.

What changes when mail lives in Odoo

  • The context is already there. Open an email and the sender's contact, open orders, unpaid invoices, tasks and meetings appear beside it.
  • Your own mailboxes, not a shared catch-all. Each person connects their own Gmail, Microsoft 365, iCloud or company IMAP mailbox. Everyone sees only their own mail, administrators included.
  • A real mail client. Threads, folders, rules, VIPs, one-click unsubscribe, undo send, send later, meeting invitations that land in Odoo Calendar, and a home-screen app for your phone.

Nothing changes until you say so

New mailboxes start read-only. Hub Mail copies your mail without marking anything read, so your phone and your other mail apps see no difference. When you're ready, switch on "Allow changes on the mail server" and every action syncs both ways.
